The Breath Letter #26

Dear Breather,

New year, new you? Though I’m not the biggest fan of this kind of thinking, it does seem to be true for Breathlife.

So here’s what’s new…

First of all, The Breathlife Collective!

Your new breathwork home in London.

Five brilliant practitioners (Alex, Angeliki, Carla, Jenny and Fini) who I’ve worked with an deeply trust to take over everything “breathlife” in London as I focus on Lisbon.
You can find out everything about them here, available for both 1:1 and the montly signature Breathwork & Somatics sessions.

Having said that, I’ll be in London on the 8th of Feb!
As it’s only for 1 day there’ll be a 4 hour Breathwork Deep-dive.

So if you want to have a session with the Breathlife OG do come if you want to learn about the science, the nervous system and develop your own breathwork routine in addition to a long breathwork session.

What’s also new is the STUNNING new location for this years EntryPoints - Breathwork & Somatics retreat (16-21 Sept). I proudly present “The Shanti Space”, a real gem that we’ve been very lucky to secure.

The Breath

Behind Heart Space

I only recently came across this and it feels very special and kinda like a secret spot.

It’s quite a simple exercise so just try, even now as you’re reading this.

Start breathing gently through the nose, in and out.

The shift your attention down, into the body, and locate the heart space.
When you’re there, rather than focusing on the front, focus on the space between the heart and spine.

Spend some time in this little cave and see what it does to you

The Insights

“The Gates of Hell are locked from the inside”
A quote I came across recently that struck a chord and resonated.
What do you think, does this feel, mostly, true for you?

When you want to change your mind, change your body
When you’re in an argument, discussion or even conflict this can make all the difference.
Of course, the first requirement is a openness towards an alternative view point; but if indeed this is the case, continue to gently shift your position or bing in gentle movement.
This avoids the body from hardening up and reminds it that you’re not under attack.

The Content

Larimar Sound Academy
One of those albums. Been listening to it on repeat. Perfect for gentle breathwork or when you need to focus. Calm and rhythmic.

Fascia Database
This is one for the geeks! A free resource provided by The Fascia Guide with loads of articles on fascia. Very useful when you’re new to the wonderful world of fascia.

The Science of Personality - Dan Siegel
It’s truly unbelievable how much ground this man has covered in his career. This time he has focused on Personality, what it is, how it develops. A very useful and accessible podcast episode.
